How to give someone access to your GoDaddy domain.
Your web address is rented from GoDaddy, and only the GoDaddy account holder can point it at a new website. GoDaddy has a built-in way to let somebody help you with that without ever sharing your login.
Takes about two minutes. We need it to point your web address at your new site when it is ready.
You are not giving us your password
You keep your password. We never see it, and we never see your card. At the level we ask for, we cannot buy anything, cannot add a payment method, cannot see your order history, and cannot invite anybody else. You can remove us from the same page in two clicks, whenever you like.
The steps
- Go to account.godaddy.com/access and sign in. If that link does not work, click your name in the top right of godaddy.com, then "Account Settings", then "Delegate Access".
- Under "People who can access my account", click "Invite to Access".
- For the name put Fernvie. For the email put info@fernvie.com.
- For the access level choose "Domains Only". That is the smallest one on the list, and it is all we need.
- Click "Invite". GoDaddy emails us straight away.
Then tell us
Nothing, we get the email from GoDaddy. One thing worth knowing: the invite expires after about two days, so send it when you have a spare minute rather than saving it for the weekend. Until we accept, it shows as pending on that same page.
