How to give someone access to your Facebook Page.
Facebook and Instagram let you give somebody permission to post and run ads for you. Nobody needs your password, and nobody has to be your friend on Facebook.
Takes about five minutes. We need it to post for you, reply to messages, or run your ads.
You are not giving us your password
You keep your own login and stay in charge. Whatever we post is logged under our name, and you can take our access away in a few clicks. We can never post from your personal profile, only from the business Page.
The steps
- Do this on a computer, not the phone app. The phone app hides most of these settings and it is the single most common reason people give up.
- Go to business.facebook.com and click "Settings".
- Under "Accounts" click "Pages", then click your Page.
- Click "Assign people", find us, and pick the access level. "Partial access" covers posting and replying. Choose "Full access" if we are also running your ads.
- Click "Assign".
- If you do not see any of that, your Page is set up the other way, and the cleaner route is to add us as a partner. In Settings, under "Users", click "Partners", then "Add", then "Give a partner access to your assets", and enter our partner ID: PLACEHOLDER_META_PARTNER_ID.
- For Instagram, the account has to be linked to the Page first. If it is not, tell us and we will walk you through that part on a call, because it is genuinely fiddly.
Then tell us
Tell us which route you used. If Facebook asks you to turn on two-factor authentication before it will let you add a partner, that is normal and worth doing anyway.
